The Glass Castle: A Memoir by Jeannette Walls
MSNBC reporter Walls, recounts a nomadic and harrowing childhood spent following her father's dreams and accommodating her mother's artistic aspirations. 

Five Skies by Ron Carlson
Last  year's Reading across Rhode Island selection recounts in precise and poetic language--three men's efforts to rebuild their lives through care and work on an  isolated building site in Idaho.

The Knitting Circle by Ann Hood
After the death of her five-year-old daughter, a woman finds solace with a group of knitters all trying to cope with loss.
