March Computer Classes

(All computer classes require pre-registration)

Computers 101A- Friday, March 5th from 2-3:15pm OR Tuesday, March 16th from 11-12:15pm

(1 hr and 15 minutes)

Think a mouse is a small animal? Not sure how to turn your computer on? We’ll start by introducing you to the different parts of your computer. We will also begin working on the skills necessary to use a computer – turning it on and off, using the mouse and the keyboard. This class will prepare you for Computers 101B.

 

Microsoft Word Basics- Thursday, March 11th from 5:00-6:15

(1 hr and 15 minutes)

This class is designed to help you go from a blank page to a formatted document in no time! Learn how to make your font really stand out, add color, and format the words on the page so that your document looks the way you imagined it would.

* Prerequisites: Ability to use mouse and keyboard

 

Computers 101 B- Friday, March 12th from 2- 3:15 OR Tuesday, March 23rd from 11-12:15

(1 hr and 15 minutes)

Now that you have begun to use a mouse and keyboard, we’ll continue to refine those skills and learn how to apply them to everyday situations. We’ll also take a peek into the different files and folders on your computer.

* Prerequisites: Computers 101A or proficiency using a mouse and keyboard



Internet 102- Thursday, March 18 from 5:00-6:15pm

(1 hr and 15 minutes)

Are you feeling comfortable with the web but feel like you using it for more? Learn how to use the web in your daily life, from checking the weather to looking up phone numbers. We will also cover how to use search engines more effectively.

*Prerequisites: Ability to use the web for basic functions (e-mail, viewing a website)

 

Computers 102- Monday, March 29th from 12-1:15

(1 hr and 15 minutes)

Now that you can open and close programs, well talk a little bit more about how to find things in your computer. We'll discuss how to find your way around in all the files and folders, how to save files and find them again, using copy and paste, and inserting a CD, DVD, or flash drive.

*Prerequisite: Ability to use a mouse and keyboard, open and close a program, and shut down a computer.
